COVID-19: Requiring a new normal of clean.

Category: Green Clean

Green Clean’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At Green Clean, we’re committed to the well-being and health of our customers, and employees. Our ownership alone has 50+ years of collective cleaning and restoration experience, much of it requiring high levels of health-related intention, we wanted to take a moment to communicate the action steps we are taking to navigate these uncertain times as an organization. As a small business, we’ve made the decision to remain open, monitoring the COVID-19 virus and cooperating with the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization.

Together, we’re implementing a new normal of clean.

Additionally, we wanted to highlight areas that, if practiced together, can limit the spread of germs, bacteria, and viruses, such as COVID-19. We’re currently championing these concepts with our team members, as well as practicing them with our customers.

  • Clean your hands often: Clean your hands every time you sneeze, cough or go to a public place. These cleanings should include soap and warm water, and be 20 seconds in length (at a minimum).
  • Practice social distancing: If possible, keep your distance from others, since the COVID-19 virus spreads if/when you are in contact with those infected. A good rule of thumb is to remain 6 feet away from individuals in public places.
  • Disinfect your home: Using EPA certified disinfectants, it’s important to maintain clean surfaces in your homes. Think about places that acquire consistent human traffic throughout a given day (kitchen counters, doors, sinks, etc.). In addition, think about the items that we are bringing in and out of our homes (cellphones, purses, lunch bags, keys, name badges, eyewear).
  • Protect others: Covering your nose and mouth when you sneeze or cough can be of great benefit to others; specifically those within your vicinity. Not only can this prevent the transmission of any illness, but it models good behavior for those around you. Should you cough and sneeze, be sure to dispose of tissues into the trash (immediately) and thoroughly wash your hands.
  • Limit handshake greetings: For the time being, try and avoid handshake greetings. Instead, practice a respectful bow or the bumping of elbows. It’s important to remember that our hands carry many of the germs we’re trying to avoid, and because of this, simple handshake limitations can be exponentially beneficial.

As our hearts go out to those affected by the COVID-19 virus, as well as those of us simply living with uncertainty, we would like to offer our team to answer any cleaning-related questions you may have. If you do have questions, please call the number below (no question is too small). Our hope is that by requiring a new normal of clean, we can each do our part to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
